  • The Alabama Policy Institute (API) is a non-partisan research and education institution devoted to the preservation of free markets, limited government and strong families. API assists policy makers, business people, the media and the general public by providing objective analysis of Alabama issues and by promoting sound solutions to federal, state and local policy problems.

  • Grounded in the belief of “Principles not Politics,” API strives to provide policy makers with the independent research and objective analysis they need to craft sensible, even-handed public policy, free from the political pressures of powerful special-interest groups.
