Michael Ciamarra

Vice President

Michael Ciamarra is Vice President of the Alabama Policy Institute.  He is a widely published columnist and frequent commentator on radio talk shows.  He is a member of the Heritage Foundation Resource Bank and a fellow with Center for Health Transformation. Michael also serves as Alabama chair for former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich’s American Solutions organization.

 

Michael writes and advocates legislation to Alabama’s Legislature through API's Legislative Agenda, public testimony and various columns.  Many of his bills have become model legislation for national pro-family groups and other state-based policy groups.

 

Michael serves as API’s legislative liaison to the Alabama Legislature and the Executive branch of state government.  He was appointed a Commissioner to serve on the governor’s 2003 Citizens Constitution Revision Commission. in addition, he serves on several state advisory groups.

 

Michael is former chair of the Alabama State Republican Executive Committee Resolutions Committee.  He served as Governor Fob James’ policy advisor and executive assistant (1995-1999).
